I actually grew up going to elementary school and high school with both Julie and Candace, and we also happened to go to college together at Point Loma Nazarene. Jamie, Chris, and Roxy- A Weekend in San Fran

Two weeks ago my good friend Jamie, who I've known since third grade, flew me out to San Francisco to take photos of her dog, Roxy. I love Roxy. We have a special bond, or at least I tell myself that. We did the photos at her boyfriend's grandfather's house in Berkeley and it was quite possibly one of the coolest houses I've ever been to. He had rooms filled with old film reels from sports games, and a bathroom with American flag wallpaper. Literally, the entire bathroom looked like one giant American flag. The weekend was so much fun and Roxy did such a good job posing for the camera. She should be a dog model.

I did some family photos for my aunt and uncle and my two cousins over Thanksgiving. My aunt is super crafty and brought some really cute props to use, and we happened to find a perfect desolate road near my grandma's house in the country. Visalia is so beautiful in the fall!

Last week I had the opportunity to do a photo shoot in Copper of the Romsos'. It was a beautiful day out and the whole family was exceptionally easy to photograph, and that can be challenging with such a large group! But all the kids were adorable, and very well behaved. Needless to say, the photos that we ended up with with great!

I experienced my first BBQ festival about a month ago. It was basically the Del Mar Fair, minus the rides and the games and the shows. It was PURELY delicious, fried, barbequed food. While at the festival I also took some photos of our friends Cory and Nick, who are in a long distance relationship, as a favor to them. Needless to say, it was a great evening.

Okay, it's been a while since I updated.

After getting married, packing up and moving to Colorado, I had little to no time to do photography. Sure, I'd take photos of my dog outside in the snow, but it was just too cold for me to be outside for long periods of time. On top of that, I was working a full-time job and once I was off work it was already dark out. So once the snow stopped (in JUNE!) I picked it back up again. The following photos are from my first photo shoot since moving to Colorado. It was fun shooting with the Theisen's. Photo shoots with young children can often times be difficult due to the kids not wanting to look at the camera, not wanting to smile, etc. But we got a few shots in there with all smiling faces!

I was so excited when Sophie contacted me about doing their engagement photos (they're getting married next weekend!). They had such a vision for what type of photos they were looking for. They wanted to go to an art museum in Escondido where Wes Bruce has an exhibition that's essentially a giant fort. So we met there early in the morning, took some photos outside, and headed over to the museum. It was a lot of fun, and a lot of climbing and crawling around, but a lot of fun! I wish them the best of luck at their wedding next weekend.

Audi and I met years ago when we went on a missions trip to Rwanda and the DRC. Throughout our stay in Africa we became really good friends. While we were in Africa Audi was engaged to Jeremy, and they were married a little after we arrived back in the states. Audi has a huge heart and I was honored when she asked me to take photos of her beautiful family. It's so amazing to me to be able to see a family grow from two people, to a family of three, plus one on the way! We did the photo shoot in La Jolla and ended up with some great photos. It didn't hurt that they're entire family is beautiful, and their little girl is one of the cutest things I've ever seen.

Two weeks ago I had the privilege of photographing two adorable little girls. I actually used to nanny for the older one, Madision, while the younger one was growing in her mother's belly. It was so fun to see Cate and Madison interacting and playing together. They were very active, and shy at times, but we ended up with some great photos!

I met Ben and Liz in our marriage counseling class. They happened to be in need of a photographer and I happened to do photography part-time. Getting to know Ben and Liz through classes once a week really made this wedding so much fun to photograph, and it didn't hurt that they're incredibly photogenic. Their wedding in Julian was definitely one to remember!

A couple of months ago, my boyfriend and I got engaged. This might be old news to some of you-most of you. However, I never posted about it! Better late than never, I figure. So Brett convinced our friend Chad, an aspiring photographer, to set up a mock photo shoot. You know, so that he could establish a bigger portfolio. I of course bought it, and went along with the story line. Brett was VERY convincing. Once we arrived on the cliffs of Point Loma, Chad brought out a picnic basket filled with "food he made for us for helping him out in such a big way". He set up the fake picnic scene and took some photos of us. Chad also snuck in another camera and set it on video without my knowledge. Long story short, here's the edited version of Bretty popping the question:

Maxie and I grew up in the same church, went to the same high school and our mom's are best friends. So, seeing that I've known her family for years, I was thrilled when they asked me to shoot Maxie and Vince's wedding and engagement photos.

Maxie and Vince recently had an adorable baby girl named Addison, so we took some photos of her as well. I've never seen a more well-behaved baby in my life, and I've seen A LOT of babies. I had a great time photographing their cute little family and I can't wait for the wedding in April!

Ladies and Gentlemen,

My best friends are engaged. After three years of dating, the two people that were more made for each other than any other two people in the world, are getting married. Our freshman year of college Alyssa had a pair of pants with only one pant pocket on the back (why? I don't know. I think it fell off). Now, Alyssa wore these pants all the time, and we teased her about them a bit, but it was okay because she was Alyssa and she can get away with anything. One fine day while I was walking down caf-lane, I discovered a familiar looking butt-another pair of pants with only one pant pocket! A shaggy haired boy was walking right in front of me was wearing pants with only one pant pocket as well, what are the odds?! I rushed to Alyssa and told her that I had found her soul-mate (jokingly of course) and she in turn told me she knew who it was; a boy from one of her classes named Aj. Four years later, they're gettin' hitched. Alyssa, I'm sorry if you're embarrassed by this post, but I had to do it. I love you guys!

I had the privilege of photographing the wedding of Lauren Baeza and Gary Burnette this past Friday at the Rancho Bernardo Inn here in San Diego. I had never been there before, and it was beautiful; every inch that place was begging for a photo opt. It was a small, intimate wedding, with Lauren, Gary, and their four friends, and quite frankly, it was a lot of fun to shoot! I'm really glad I had to opportunity to capture their big day.

Whoa, I'm way behind! I've been incredibly busy lately and haven't had the chance to post my last two photo shoots, so here's a quick run-down. A couple of weeks ago I had a photo shoot with one of the families I nanny for, the Szekeres'. We decided to do the shoot right in their own home, because it's much easier to capture babies and toddlers when they're in their own element. It was quite a hysterical afternoon trying to get the kids to smile, but nonetheless it worked and we came out with some great photos.

Princess Parties!

The day after Halloween (I know this is late), some old friends from college and I headed over to Balboa Park for a photo shoot for their up and coming website. They're starting a business hosting princess parties for little girls! It's a great idea; being a nanny I've seen just how much little girls LOVE princesses. Plus, Andra and Tori are both very pretty and can pull of the princess look quite well. We got a few funny looks walking through Balboa Park in princess attire, however I think people were more confused that I was dressed normally and walking with Princess Jasmine and Sleeping Beauty.

The best part was seeing little kids point and stare as if they were seeing a celebrity, and one little girl even coyly told Andra, "You're pretty...".

This one got us a great deal of funny looks because I used self-timer. It's not every day you seen a grown woman taking a picture with two princesses.

Sanford Family

Over the lovely Halloween weekend, I had an early morning photo shoot with the Sanford's, a family who found me online and just so happened to live up the street from me.

We met at Windansea in La Jolla (a quite popular area for photo shoots might I add!) and we were extremely lucky to dodge the fog that normally surrounds this area in the early morning. The tide was a bit higher than I had anticipated, (why didn't I think of that?!) but we made do with it and ended up with some great pictures. Hunter and Jackson, the two lively boys made it quite easy to take cute pictures, however they weren't the easiest to keep up with! Children are my favorite subjects to photograph; they're extremely hard to keep still, but that usually results in a GREAT photo bursting with the life and enthusiasm.

After doing a photo shoot for Breanne and Tj, my boyfriend Brett and I headed to a wedding in Fowler, for Losa and Jason Chang. The two were married on Thursday, October 15, in a small, intimate ceremony in a beautiful backyard. They decided to have a big, non-traditional reception with friends and family on Saturday, with sushi, a taco bar, and a live band. Everyone had a great time eating, dancing, chatting, and laughing with new and old friends.

I love seeing people I haven't seen since high school. It's great catching up and seeing what everyone's accomplished in the past five years.

Over the weekend my boyfriend, my dog, and I headed up to Visalia to visit my family and photograph a wedding. But a couple hours before the wedding I did a photo shoot for an old friend from high school, Breanne McFarland, and her fiance Tj. Luckily, the leaves and weather in Visalia are in the beginning stages of fall, making perfect settings for an afternoon photo shoot.

We took advantage of the "country-like" settings around the area and headed a couple miles outside of town. We had a great time catching up and laughing. I can't wait for their wedding in December!

Mother-Son Photo Shoot

This past beautiful Sunday afternoon, I headed to the cliffs of La Jolla for a photo shoot with Rachele and her son Anthony. She wanted to have photos taken of the two of them before Anthony left for the military. We were lucky and had absolutely beautiful weather, despite the early morning marine layer that plagued most of the day Sunday. The shoot was short and sweet, and we had a great time.

This past Sunday I had the pleasure of taking photos for a blessing ceremony on the cliffs of La Jolla. Little Lyla was being honored by her family with a ceremony to bless her life and everything she does. During the ceremony each family member dipped their finger in ocean water and touched Lyla, symbolizing the blessing of her life. It was a precious and touching service for this adorable little girl that had so much life bursting out of her. It wasn't hard snapping a beautiful photo of her, with her little white dress and yellow bow in hair; she was just too cute! Thank you Rezai family for allowing me to capture that wonderful moment in your lives!

M.Dot Design Studio Photo Shoot

This past weekend I had the opportunity to do a photo shoot for a new fall clothing line by M.Dot Design Studio. Self-taught seamstress, Michelle Aquino, is also an extremely talented designer and her clothing amazed me! Her one of a kind garments are available at The Basement Boutique, a store in Mission Beach, as well as two other stores in San Diego.

I recently had the opportunity to do a senior/sibling photo shoot for a family visiting San Diego from Texas. We went to the Scripps Pier in La Jolla and the pictures turned out great. It was a little different working with teenagers, versus the youngin's I'm used to, but it was a lot of fun! Thanks Anderson's!
